You made it downstairs. There’s not too much light down here, but hopefully this page can shed some light on what’s happening at Basement Magazine.
Why the name Basement Magazine? After spending a lot of time subgrade, we thought, “Hey, let's just call it Basement Magazine,” and here we are. That’s the inception of this here publication.
Names aside, the feeling of Basement Magazine is a little deeper. We found ourselves with friends, new and old, catching up and telling stories in subterranean settings. Sometimes there was a pinball machine in the basement, and other times there was a water heater that looked like a scary monster when you turned off the lights. Despite the decor of the basement or lack thereof, the most important part of the basement was the people and the conversations had. After these basement hangouts, a recurring phenomenon would occur - a surge of curiosity.
So we thought, let's pursue that basement curiosity with friends, catalog it through something physical, like say a magazine, and share it with the world. Hey, maybe other people out there have similar interests in the stuff we are curious about. Or maybe not at all. Maybe they’re just looking for the best dehumidifier for their basement.
All in all we’re not exactly sure what we’re doing, and that’s kind of the fun part. But what we do know is that it's pretty neat you’ve read this far. The only way is up from here but Stay Awhile.
